Before you start

Pick the hero you want to play — Paco, Cato, Froga, Dragy, Kito and more are available in the Hero shop. You don't need real money: unlock them with Ratacoins, the in‑game currency you earn while practising touch typing on Ratatype (typing tutor).

Next, choose the language you want to type in. You can practise typing in any supported language.

You can also set up sound right away. Play with sound on for maximum shooter vibes, or turn it off so you don't disturb anyone.

During the game

The typing game starts after the countdown. Get ready — stay focused and type quickly.

As words appear, try to type them as fast as possible: each shot (each correctly typed letter) gives you +1 point. If you hit the wrong key, you get 0 points for that letter.

Type the whole word with zero mistakes and you'll get +10 accuracy points. The more perfect words you type in a row, the bigger your accuracy streak — and it adds extra points at the end of the game.

Watch for bonus words outlined in yellow. They're a bit longer and trickier, but each correct letter gives you +4 points, and a perfect bonus word gives you +40 points.

In the bottom-left corner you'll see your blast wave charge. Once you reach 100 points, you can trigger a mega explosion to destroy all words within the wave radius — press ENTER. Points aren't awarded for words destroyed by the blast wave.

Bottom right you'll see two buttons: Play again and Pause. You can also pause with the Esc key.
