David Ridoutt's album Ben's Gift

This Cd is a collection of Easy Listening Songs and was produced in commemoration and celebration of life that was offered to David Ridout by the family of a ten year old boy called Ben.

This otherwise bright and enthusiastic and very normal young man tragically died whilst undergoing surgery in mid 1993. In accordance with his wishes and after dutiful consideration, his family offered Ben's organs for Transplant.

David Ridoutt, a fifty year old father of two working in the travel industry had been on dialysis for nearly three years following kidney failure in 1990.

Ben's gift has enabled David to not only resume work but also to lead a relatively normal life.

David has been singing non-professionally for over 20 years. A singer of mainly sacred music, he was principal soloist at Randwick, Sydney during both visits to Australiaa by Pope John-Paul II He travelled to Rome during the beatification celebrations for Blessed Edmund Rice (founder of the Christian Brothers) and currently sings with two choirs in Sydney.

* The John-Paul Singers, under the leadersip of Brother Colin Smith cfc, from whom David has learned all he knows about liturgical music and singing.
